Humanism is at stake. It is no longer a legitimate response to human plight in the 21st century, in which bio-, nano-, and info- technologies have invaded the human body and the mind together with both human and more-than-human environments. These technologies have tremendously and radically transformed our planet, our societies, ourselves, and our understanding of the human and the non-human agencies. Humanism as a metanarrative fails to explain the problems associated with the technologically saturated, ecologically damaged world.
posthumanismS.org, based on a post-centralized, multilingual plurality, is a platform of multidisciplinary perspectives that investigate the human condition in the past, focus on the contemporary posthuman predicament, and reflect on the possible outcomes and scenarios in the future.
Our aim is two-fold: (1) to host short pieces that engage with ideas already presented in the previous issues of the Journal of Posthumanism; (2) to publish about work-in-progress ideas that further the conversation within posthumanities.
Our mission is to build solidarity with novel knowledge about the posthuman predicament and share and spread this novelty through publications and other media.
